The Future We Imagine – Yarra Ranges 2035

The Future We Imagine brings together the voices of young people from across the Yarra Ranges as they respond to the question: What does a climate‑resilient Yarra Ranges look like in 2035?

In partnership with Yarra Ranges Council, four local schools were invited to imagine what the future of the region may look like and develop a creative response. Offering a hopeful perspective on climate change, students looked to the future with curiosity, collaboration and consideration of how a healthy environment can benefit people, plants and animals.

This exhibition forms part of two climate focused events in 2026, the Repower Festival and the Burrinja Climate Change Biennale. At the Repower Festival, the works sit within a community celebration of clean energy futures, while the Burrinja Climate Change Biennale aims to highlight the importance of the powerful intersection between art and science.

These artworks invite us to look to the future with the same optimism as our young people and listen to those who will inherit the environment we shape today.

In partnership with Yarra Valley Arts (YVA), this exhibition is presented as part of the 2026 Burrinja Climate Change Biennale and proudly features as part of the YVA Exhibition Series at the Memo Healesville.
