Terms and Conditions of Sales, Refunds and Entry

Your purchase is sold by Dandenong Ranges Community Cultural Centre trading as Burrinja - ABN 23 672 833 616 - through the Burrinja Box Office on behalf of the Presenter(s).
All tickets are sold in line with the Live Performance Australia (LPA) Ticketing Code of Practice. By purchasing a ticket, you agree to the following conditions:

Tickets and Pricing

  1. Ticket prices may fluctuate due to demand and Burrinja reserves the right to alter prices without notice. Burrinja reserves the right to alter prices, in accordance with the LPA Code.
  2. All ticket prices include GST (where applicable).
  3. All patrons (including children over 2 years) require a valid ticket.
  4. Where Concession tickets are applicable, a suitable and valid ID must be presented on entry. If the relevant ID cannot be presented to staff, an additional charge of up to the full ticket price will apply.
  5. Burrinja honours Companion Cards. Holders of this card are entitled to a complimentary ticket for their companion. To book using a Companion Card, please contact the Box Office and present your Companion Card upon entry.
  6. Tickets sold on behalf of Presenters other than Burrinja are subject to the terms and conditions applicable to the relevant production.

Confirmation of Purchase and Delivery of Tickets

  1. All ticket purchases will receive a confirmation number to confirm the booking. If you do not receive this number, contact the Box Office — Burrinja takes no responsibility for incomplete purchases without a confirmation number and where the patron has made no attempt to confirm the order.
  2. Default delivery method is E-ticket. These are emailed immediately following the completion of your transaction. If the E- ticket is not received within 24 hours, contact the Box Office to confirm your email address and request it to be resent.
  3. If you require a physical ticket contact Box Office during open hours to organise a printed ticket for you to collect.
  4. E-tickets can be presented at the event on the patron's electronic device. The PDF of the ticket must be presented. The confirmation email will not be accepted as proof of purchase.
  5. If you cannot locate your ticket (s), please contact the Box Office during open hours to arrange for it to be resent or reprinted and left for collection at the Box Office.

Conditions of Entry

  1. Patrons enter the venue at their own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Burrinja is not responsible for any loss, damage, harm or injury arising from a customer's entry to the venue or performance within the venue.
  2. Burrinja reserves the right of admission. Patrons who disrupt a performance, who are in use or possession of a prohibited item, or fail to produce concession ID as appropriate may be asked to leave the venue without refund of ticket purchase.
  3. By purchasing a ticket, the customer acknowledges and accepts the age recommendations and content warnings associated with the event. These will be made available on the Burrinja website.
  4. No hot food or hot drinks are permitted in the Burrinja Theatre or Lyre venues.
  5. Burrinja is not liable for loss, damage, or injury sustained at the venue, except as required by law.

Cameras and Recording Devices

  1. Cameras and other recording devices may not be permitted, unless explicitly allowed. Burrinja reserves the right to request the deletion of any unauthorised photos or video footage.

Refunds and Exchanges

  1. All Tickets are non-refundable, unless required by law or in accordance with the Live Performance Australia Ticketing Code of Practice.
  2. Exchanges (same production, different date/time) may be allowed subject to promoter approval, availability, and a $4.50 fee. Exchanges must be arranged at least 24 hours prior to the original performance.
  3. Exchanges from one production to a different production are not permitted.
  4. Exchanges will not be processed at the Box Office during peak times (e.g. in the half hour prior to a performance commencing).
  5. If an incorrect ticket price is charged for any reason, Burrinja may cancel the ticket and refund the amount paid.
  6. If a performance is cancelled, Burrinja will refund the ticket price to the original purchaser via the payment method used for the original transaction.

Event Changes

  1. Burrinja or the Presenter reserves the right to add, withdraw or substitute artists; vary advertised programs; change the duration of a production; adjust seating arrangements and audience capacity; and refuse admission with reasonable cause.
  2. Seating within the venues at Burrinja may be closed, altered or adjusted with or without prior notice. If a ticketed seat is no longer available, customers will be relocated to another comparable seat at no additional cost.
  3. Late arrivals may result in non-admittance or admittance at a suitable break in the performance. Latecomers may be seated in seats other than those purchased.
  4. In any of the circumstances set out above, tickets will not be exchanged or refunded unless required by law (including Australian Consumer Law).

Ticket Resale and Scalping

  1. Tickets are only valid when purchased via Burrinja’s Box Office.
  2. Tickets must not be on-sold at a premium, packaged with other goods or services, offered as a prize or otherwise used for advertising, promotional or commercial purposes, without the prior written permission of Burrinja. Breach of thus condition may result in cancellation without refund.
  3. To maintain fair access to tickets, Burrinja may place limits on the number of tickets available for purchase. Burrinja reserves the right to cancel and withhold a refund for any purchase exceeding those limits.

Gift Vouchers

  1. Gift Vouchers are valid for 36 months from the date of purchase.
  2. Gift Vouchers are non-refundable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
  3. Gift Vouchers may be used for events and in the Burrinja Shop and for Art purchases from the Burrinja and Lyre Galleries.
  4. If your order exceeds the amount of your Gift Vouchers, you must pay the balance with cash, or card.
  5. Burrinja does not accept any liability for lost or stolen Gift Vouchers.

Donations

  1. In the event of an error made when submitting a donation, Burrinja will honour a request for a refund. Requests must be made within 10 working days of the submission. After this time, all donations made to Burrinja are non-refundable.
