From spreadsheet to sculpture, from data to poetry.

This interactive installation presents a video work based on a database of material contributions from artists across the Climate Aware Creative Practice Network, paired with an interactive mobile structure that invites questions and gathers responses. The database of materials held by artists has been reworked into a video artwork in which cells from the spreadsheet drift into adjacency, and bureaucratic logic gives way to poetry. The work records the care, attachment and material knowledge artists hold: a love letter to the preciousness of materials and the sense of care that artists take as their custodians. About the Artists

Katie Lee is a cross-disciplinary artist whose creative practice includes sculpture, installation,

performance, video and drawing. Common to her work is a preoccupation with how our perception of the world around us can shift and flip: from stable to contingent. Her work attempts to reveal and dissect these un/stable relations, along with the political implications held in architecture, bodies and form. Katie Lee is based in Naarm/Melbourne. She has been exhibiting nationally and internationally since 2005 and is Senior Lecturer in Creative Arts at Deakin University.

Through the framework of a sculptural practice, Beth Arnold is interested in working in spaces that

intersect with the community and environment. Arnold’s approach across various projects, proposals and collaborations is to explore sculpture’s capacity to create new situations and enable more complex and meaningful ways to engage with built space. Arnold lives and works on Gunaikurnai Country in Gippsland.
