Lights, camera, action

Lights, camera, action
Our classes aren’t just about learning to act; they’re about having fun, making friends, and growing in confidence, no matter your starting point.
Whether your child loves being centre stage, gets a bit quiet in a crowd, or just wants to try something new, we’ve got a spot for them. Every week, we play games, tell stories, act out scenes, and cheer each other on in a welcoming space. The best part? Your child gets to be themselves and maybe even surprise you (and themselves!) with what they can do.
Curious but not sure yet? During the first two weeks of every term, new kids can come to one class for free, no pressure. It’s a great way to check things out before deciding to join.
Real Confidence: We’re all about helping kids feel good in their own skin, on-stage and off.
Skills for Life: Sure, they learn acting, but they also pick up teamwork, speaking up, and quick thinking.
A Place to Belong: Friendly faces, lots of laughs, and a chance to make friends who get you.
Growing a Lifelong Love of the Arts: Getting involved in drama early can spark a real appreciation for art and creativity that lasts well beyond childhood.

Get in touchDee brings warmth, energy, and decades of experience to every class she leads. With over 40 years in the arts and more than 21 years sharing her love for creativity with the Burrinja community, Dee’s passion for helping young people thrive truly shines through.
Her journey began early—Dee took her first steps on stage at just three years old and hasn’t stopped performing, directing, and choreographing since. She’s worked with theatres across Victoria, New South Wales, and South Australia and has always had a special knack for making the stage welcoming for everyone, no matter their experience or confidence level. Dee holds a Diploma of Early Childhood Education, trained at Mangala Studios in creative dance teaching, and has inspired countless young artists as the resident Drama and Creative Movement teacher at Burrinja Cultural Centre for the past 17 years.
Dee’s community focus is at the heart of everything she does: she’s run theatre workshops for the Victorian Drama League Summer School program, earned a John Monash Award nomination for her dedication to community theatre, and brought the magic of the arts to primary schools across the Dandenong Ranges.
Each week, Dee welcomes students of all ages to explore drama, music, and creative movement in a caring, encouraging setting. Her signature style combines fun, guidance, and real skill-building—helping every child discover their own voice, develop their talents, and enjoy being part of something special.
