About Rain

Rain White is an experienced multidisciplinary artist and visual arts educator who holds a Bachelor of Education (Visual Arts/Hons) The University of Melbourne/VCA/SSCA. Rain has an extensive exhibition history and has been an active member of artist collectives. Highlights of her art career include winning the Sculpture Award at the Mount View Art Show, inclusion in the publication 'Hidden in the Hills’, finalist in the Yarra Valley Arts Yering Station Sculpture Awards, twice finalist in both The John Dudley Prize and the Burrinja Climate Change Biennale. One of her monotypes was acquired for the Charles Sturt University collection. Rain regularly participates in the Dandenong Ranges Open Studios program from her studio in Burrinja Cultural Centre in Upwey. Her practice references a therapeutic connection to the environment and landscape through the creation of a symbolic landscape that acts as a metaphor for personal journey and reflection.
