Discover the beauty and simplicity of ink painting in this relaxing, hands-on workshop with experienced artist and educator Rain White. Perfect for beginners and those with some experience, this creative session introduces the fundamentals of working with both black and coloured inks while encouraging mindfulness through artistic expression.
Learn essential brush techniques, expressive mark-making and the fluid wet-in-wet method, before experimenting with colour to create beautiful natural variations in tint and tone. Guided by the calming principles of Zen, you'll explore the balance of soft and strong as you create your own peaceful stone stack ink artwork to take home.
Held in a supportive and welcoming environment, this workshop offers the perfect opportunity to slow down, learn a new skill and enjoy the meditative qualities of ink.
Rain White is an artist and educator based in the Dandenong Ranges holding a Bachelor of Education (Visual Arts, Hons) from the University of Melbourne/VCA/SSCA. She has exhibited widely, received prizes and is represented in public and private art collections. Drawing on environmental concerns and folk art, Rain explores connection to place through colour, pattern, and repetition. Her intuitive practice reflects a lifelong connection to the natural world as a source of belonging, renewal and transformation.
