The transition to secondary school is a pivotal time for young people. Lights Up is designed specifically for students aged 11 to 14, providing a dynamic environment where they can channel their energy, express their individuality, and take their acting skills to the next level.

At Dee's Drama Classes, we move beyond the basics. In this weekly class, we challenge students to dig deeper into the craft of performance, helping them build the technical skills and creative confidence needed to shine.

What Happens in Lights Up?

Each class is about joining in, giving things a go, and supporting each other as we learn. No experience is needed—just a willingness to participate and have a bit of fun!

During the term, your child will:

• Grow Acting Confidence: We play with scripts and create scenes together, so everyone can try out different roles and see what they enjoy.
• Jump Into Improv: Our improv games encourage quick thinking, teamwork, and being okay with making mistakes (they’re part of the fun!).
• Use Your Voice: We practice speaking clearly and confidently, whether it’s reading lines or cheering on a friend.
• Get Moving: From silly warm-ups to learning dance basics, everyone gets a chance to express themselves physically (and burn off some energy).
• Explore Theatre Together: We share what makes theatre unique and how everyone’s ideas can add something special to our group.

Lights Up is less about "getting it perfect" and more about discovering what you can do while meeting others and having a good time. We celebrate effort, creativity, and kindness in every session.
