Burrinja Presents

Exhitbition Opening - RSVPIn this exhibition, Paul Laspagis is presenting a range of paintings from the past eight years drawn from the landscape not far from where he lives in Ferntree Gully.
For more than fifty years his vocation has been to study the existential reality of the visual world through painting and drawing and to transfigure that experience into pictorial language.
Paul was born in Greece and grew up in Melbourne. He studied painting and drawing at the National Gallery Art School from 1968 to 1971 under Paul Brack. He taught drawing at Prahran Art School, at Victorian College of the Arts and in Adult Education.
He exhibits regularly in commercial and public galleries, most recently at The Victorian Artists Society (VAS). His paintings are held in private and public collections, including the National Gallery of Australia, the National Gallery of Victoria, the National Gallery of Athens, Heide Museum of Modern Art and several Victorian regional galleries and university collections.
Join us as we celebrate the opening of this new exhibition and experience the work alongside the artist. The exhibition will be officially opened by Peter Trusler - internationally renowned palaeoartist and author of Thrice Told: The Psychological Evolution of the Artist.
