Lost Poetry and Infinite Possibilities is the first solo exhibition at Burrinja Cultural Centre by Naarm-based photographer, poet, creator and curator James J Heenan.

Bringing together photography, poetry, words, thoughts and ideas, the exhibition presents a collection of past and new works that explore self-expression, creativity and the possibilities that emerge when visual imagery and poetic language meet.

Emerging from a period of self-doubt, personal challenges, depression and burnout, Lost Poetry reflects a process of reconnecting with creative practice after years spent supporting and curating the work of other artists. The exhibition creates space for previously unseen ideas and older works to sit alongside new explorations, revealing an evolving creative voice and a deeply personal relationship with image and language.

Through photography and poetic expression, Lost Poetry and Infinite Possibilities explores the power of creativity as a means of reflection, connection and renewal. The works invite audiences into a world of visual and written fragments, where thoughts become images, images become words, and possibilities remain open.

This exhibition marks an important new chapter in Heenan's creative practice and offers an intimate insight into the ideas, experiences and influences behind the work.
