Individual Artist
Email TamaraTamara is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores environmental themes through printmaking, ceramics, digital media, and animation. Her print-based work spans gelliplate printing, lino, and RISO, informed by a background in graphic design and videography.
Alongside her studio practice, Tamara is a secondary school teacher, specialising in Visual Arts and Design & Technologies.
Outside the Box Design Studio is tucked away in Belgrave, just a short walk from Belgrave Station and the area’s vibrant creative hub. Tamara’s work can be seen locally on the walls of Blacksmiths Way as part of Belgrave’s Graff Street project (2023).
During the Dandenong Ranges Open Studios, the studio will be open across both weekends, offering multiple workshops focused on printmaking techniques. Visitors can view works across wood, ceramics, print, and digital media, with recurring motifs of fungi, wildflowers, and broader environmental narratives.

“I create art to tell stories and to document the plants and fungi in my environment. I am interested in the effects of development and climate change on our landscapes- both urban, suburban and our forests and sea. I have been documenting wildflowers in Western Australia for the last 30 years, and lately my attention has been focused on the fungi of the Dandenong Ranges. I am a keen environmentalist and work creatively for social change in much of my art. My ethos supports sustainability in all my practices."
