Macarena is an award-winning textile artist working across a range of techniques, including punch needle, tufting guns, non-recyclable plastics, and upcycled fabrics.
Her practice explores the female body and the world around it, moving fluidly between realism and abstraction. Through bold colour and rich texture, her work invites viewers into an intimate and personal visual language.
In the studio, Macarena employs a diverse array of tools and materials to create highly detailed, textured works. Her process incorporates tufting guns, upcycled fabrics, yarn, and a well-developed skill in punch needle embroidery. She enjoys sharing this practice with the public, often demonstrating her techniques and inviting others to try punch needle embroidery for themselves.

"Creating authentic art is a process of disrupting norms, embracing uniqueness and breaking through your own limitations. It is also so much an intentional healing process where all pain and stress disappear during the creative process."
