Liberty is a landscape artist who uses colour and expressive mark-making to capture the patterns and rhythms found in nature.
Her current body of work records her experiences of walking, observing, and sitting within landscapes across North Western Victoria.
Working primarily with a combination of acrylic and oil, Liberty begins each painting with bright underpainting and expressive drawing, allowing movement and gesture to guide the work’s development. Her studio is a vibrant, active space, often filled with multiple paintings in progress alongside gestural charcoal drawings. Photography and sketchbooks are always close at hand, informing and shaping her finished works.

"I create art because it is my way to memorise experiences and process my feelings about the sacredness of nature. Decorative landscape painting in the midst of climate change, is a defiant act that invites the viewer to appreciate and revere our precious natural environment. I’m interested in the relationship between hope and action. I believe one must fall in love with nature in order to have to audacity and will to try and protect it."
