Sherbrooke based artist Kelly paints evocative landscapes inspired by the rainforest and her travels. Working mainly in oils, she layers subdued tones to capture fleeting moments of light, weather, and ecological change, blending realism with impressionism to create immersive, sensory works.
In Kelly’s rainforest studio in the cottage of Sherbrooke Lodge, an audiobook or podcast plays as layered landscapes slowly evolve on multiple easels. Brushes, palettes, and pigment-stained rags surround works in progress, each capturing shifting light and weather. Natural light filters through tall windows, echoing the environment outside, while quiet focus and intuitive mark-making shape a deeply immersive and unique creative space.

"I create to capture the fleeting beauty of the natural world, the light, the weather, the quiet shifts in atmosphere. Painting allows me to connect deeply with my surroundings and translate that sensory experience into something lasting. It’s an intuitive process that grounds me, challenges me, and continually reveals new ways of seeing our environment."
