Sculpture

Jenny’s sculptures use form, structure, and acquired meaning to explore the relationship between the environment and what emerges from the subconscious, telling a story or simply marking what is dear to us.

Visiting her studio feels like stepping into a fairytale—crossing a timber bridge over a creek to a whimsical space where her otherworldly sculptures rest naturally among the ferns. Stacks of clay, works in progress, most finished, some abandoned.

Tools, nests, bones, rusty metal, all inspire the next idea to be explored. Jenny's studio is a little world gathered in from the wider world.

“What inspires me is how things work! The alchemy of design, material, observation and happenstance.
I love the beginning of a new piece, laying down the foundations then refining the form.

Working intuitively on balance and proportion until it's time to stand back and assess. Sometimes it's fast, sometimes it's a struggle."
