By repurposing op-shop clothing, hard rubbish finds and lamps, Isy’s art celebrates the cycle of de(con)struction and re-emergence.
Isy reassembles, strips, sews, screen prints, dyes, glues and stitches on inclusions. Each piece takes on a unique life of it’s own. Each contains it’s own story of a broken past and liberating rebirth, inviting the observer to reflect on their own possibilities. Isy’s hand-built studio is a work of art in itself. The deep teal tones and recycled fence timbers create a sanctuary for her personal creative process. Every inch covered in old and new works, tools, and inspirational resources. A place to chop, stitch and start again.
An acre of lush garden overlooking 5 naughty goats is a joy to behold.

"Textiles and light (lamps) are the perfect metaphor for my journey; making something beautiful from discarded pieces and letting the light shine through.
— Isy Star
Creation is meditation. I am fully present in that moment. Sharing my studio with others is integral to my art and my being, an authentic human connection through community is born when people enter the space."
