Gabby’s work can be described as liminal, expressive, impressionistic, and figurative. She explores the threshold between light and dark, spirit and physicality, comfort and uncertainty.
Recent sculptures exploring the theme of light take shape using paper and sticks through the forms of the female nude. These organic shapes have become lanterns to be seen at festivals as a glowing homage to the metaphorical light within. The materials Gabby has chosen to use parallel the journey of our own physical bodies and eventually become part of their environment once more. Gabby uses her art to explore cycles of life, the changing body and its connection to this earth and the infinite.
Gabby’s Artworks begin in nature, collecting sticks, leaves, feathers, flowers and herbs. She brings awareness to the physical, metaphorical and spiritual through meditation.

"I desire to connect with and understand emotions, moving through them, and expressing them using metaphor and the exploration of art materials. I love the ah ha moments when people share an understanding of human experience and connection. I make art to explore the concepts in my mind, turning them into something physical to help me better consider them, and talk about them with others. When I see my ideas or emotions expressed through art, I feel alive."
