Elizabeth Gleeson is a painter known for her large scale murals and intricate fine art, distinctly recognisable due to her patterned, contemporary take on a folk-nouveau style.
Working internationally and in Australia, her vibrantly coloured, beautifully detailed works have a timeless quality that evokes a sense of nostalgia, wonder and fascination, appealing to a broad audience.
Elizabeth shares a studio with artist Gerard Russo, on their tree-filled property bordered by a creek. Visitors can contribute to a collaborative mural, view works in progress and take a tour through the lush, new art-themed short-stay accommodation attached to the studio. Visitors can also browse the pop-up shop and gallery to purchase original works and fine art prints and discuss commissioning murals.
My works reflect a deep fascination with intricate patterns and an insatiable passion for the rich, recognisable aesthetics of past art eras and cultures that deeply inspire me. My entire artistic process centres around creating a finely balanced composition that incorporates a complex set of elements, whilst combining colour and form to create a sense of beauty, depth and intrigue."
