April is a 15-year-old origami artist who has evolved into pleating through her desire to create origami clothes.

April first started learning origami when she was 5 and has loved exploring the practice ever since.

Dragon Nest is a retail space for makers from the Dandenong Ranges and beyond. Folded by Me’s studio - where April creates her origami and pleating - is housed within Dragon Nest.

"I first started folding origami when I was 5 years old. I fell in love with the process and wanted to keep learning and pushing myself to make harder and harder models. I dreamed of being able to create an origami skirt - a dream that I realised when I was 14, after two years of research and experimenting.

I am inspired when I come up with an idea for a new project and I become 100% focussed on it until it is complete. The most rewarding part of my practice is when I have completed a new outfit or artwork and I can appreciate what I have created."
