Get Tickets (free)This playful workshop simulates how the Belgrave and Tecoma community will respond to the next ten years of climate change in the Hills.
Experience the next decade of climate change in our local area through The Adaptation Game. This facilitated, cooperative tabletop experience is open to community members 18+, presented by Belgrave Tecoma Township Group with the support of Yarra Ranges Council.
Using local Yarra Ranges maps, data and climate projections, we'll simulate realistic scenarios relating to heatwaves, floods, bushfires or storms. Working in small groups, participants tell stories about how they'd prepare for, respond to and adapt to these extreme weather events as individuals and community members.
This interactive workshop turns abstract climate threats into concrete, actionable strategies. You'll identify practical steps you can take home, to your street and through community networks, whilst learning about resilience programs already underway in the Hills.
Please note: This is an active participation workshop for adults (18+) involving small group discussions and storytelling over four hours, not a casual drop-in activity. Come ready to interact with others and explore real challenges facing our community.
