Burrinja supports new and creative arts in the Hills – building community through arts. You can help us keep the arts programs at Burrinja free, accessible and exciting with a tax deductible donation to our fundraising campaign. And giving before June 30 can make great sense!

 



Little or BIG, give now and help us reach our $18,000 target to help support the cost of our fabulous programs and projects, so we can all continue to enjoy them:

Free Public Programs – visual and performing arts ($4,000)

    We ensure that many of our exhibitions, theatre shows and events include engaging public programs with the artists, performers and programmers, allowing everyone to get an insight into their arts practice, and sometimes real hands-on experience.

Free Gallery Entrance – Burrinja Gallery ($8,000)

    The arts are at the heart of our community and we value access for all to engage, enjoy and be inspired by the arts- since late 2015 we have made our exhibition program FREE for everyone to experience a wide range of artwork by local, Indigenous and international artists.

Free Hillscene Magazine quarterly ($4,000)

    The quarterly Hillscene magazine - highlighting local arts, culture and the environment is completely funded by Burrinja, your donations enable us to run these amazing programs and many more that directly contribute and enrich our community!

Burrinja Kids Stay and Play – Free Family Activities ($2,000)

    Our Burrinja Kids Stay and Play free family activities engage local artists to create exciting family activities for everyone - but we need your support to keep it happening!

Sustainable LED Lighting for our Galleries

    Burrinja’s utility bills would help pay many artists to create great things, so we want to reduce what goes to power companies and increase what goes to artists! LED lighting will go a great way to achieving this while decreasing our carbon footprint and increasing sustainability. LED lighting for galleries does not come cheap – but we’re working on it!

Burrinja is a registered, tax deductible charity

We are an independent arts organisation which operates with a volunteer Board of Management, our fabulous volunteers and a small, dedicated team of staff. Since 1998, with on-going support from Yarra Ranges Council, we have helped develop and present arts and culture in the Dandenong Ranges, and we now bring cultural programs to over 70,000 people every year.

By gifting to Burrinja’s Public Fund you demonstrate your passion and support for arts and culture in the region. All donations help us to deliver more arts and cultural programs into the community, and are greatly appreciated. And every donation to the Burrinja Public Fund is tax-deductible.

Burrinja also supports and enables many other cultural events and programs in the region including Dandenong Ranges Open Studios,  Belgrave Lantern Parade,  Belgrave Survival Day,  hillsceneLive,  hillscene Magazine and Blog,  End of the Line Festival, Artist Studios and Workshop Studio spaces at Burrinja, VCE Creative Showcase,  Burrinja Kids Stay and Play - free family activities and the Burrinja Climate Change Biennale and award. These community-based events and activities are vital for the vibrancy of our region, and attract more participation every year.

Your tax deductible donation can help us to keep fostering and delivering these important programs in the Hills.


Give a little – or buy a seat!


As they say, every little bit helps. All donor support is highly valued by Burrinja, and will make a difference.

  • $20 will help transport the ‘Arties’ to Burrinja from their supported residential service each week;
  • $50  will buy art materials for our Kids Zone;
  • $100 will provide an artist with a month’s residency in our Project Studio;
  • $150 allows us to get a new street banner to promote the Lantern Parade or other events;
  • $200 would support our next exhibition opening event; and,
  • $1,000 will get help us get the next edition of Hillscene printed and on the street.

Donations of $200 or more will be acknowledged with a theatre seat name plaque recognizing your support, giving you an important on-going stake in the region's theatre. Yes, you can become a part of our unique history and community.

Bronze ($200+), Silver ($400+), Gold ($1,000+) and Platinum ($5,000+) donors also receive acknowledgment on our donor’s board, web site and in our Annual Report. Here’s our list of generous Public Fund Donors to date.

The Burrinja Public Fund is endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) under Subdivision 30-BA of the Income Tax Assessment Act of 1997; 12.1.1 public fund on the register of cultural organisations.
