Acrylic Painting

A colourful, sensory experience evoking a love for nature within the region.

Emily Lowe is an artist primarily using acrylic on canvas to convey her love and interest in many native subjects found in the Dandenong Ranges region. She uses bright colours and immense detail not only to convey the beauty of native birds and plants but also to pay homage and express a need for their conservation.

Using materials like dried flowers, leaves, empty paint tubes, aluminium cans, and paper scraps, Emily repurposes what others discard, challenging the idea of ‘creative consumption’.

Her acrylic-on-canvas works are layered, organic, and process-driven, capturing the delicate balance between the natural world and human impact.

“I aim to push the bounds of my creativity in an attempt to celebrate the beautifully divine intricacies of native flora and fauna.”
