Brunch with Adrian Hyland

Adrian Hyland will talk about the novel Kinglake 350 and the future role that fires will play in our communities.

In 2011 Adrian wrote Kinglake-350 about the Black Saturday bushfires. Kinglake-350 is a masterpiece of writing about family, community, country life and what happens when a day of ultimate terror arrives.  This is a must for all Dandenong and Yarra Valley residents.  He paints a dramatic and compelling sequence of events on that day and weaves them into a picture of universal significance and deep fascination.

The ticket will also include entry for after the event to Cloudehill gardens.  Brunch will be served and included in the price.

Jenny Biddle

Presented by Ranges Concert Lounge

Jenny Biddle is one of our most formidable singer-songwriter-guitarists. She wraps herself around a self-made guitar, and like a marriage between body and instrument, her most honest core is released as she commands the guitar to sing with such rare musical intuition and has returned to the true essence of the superb music she creates – brilliant original acoustic folk/blues songs that rely solely on her powerfully emotive voice, an instinctual mastery of the piano and her jaw dropping skills on the guitar. Whether listening to her albums or witnessing this diminutive songstress live on stage, you are humbled by a raw honesty. Removed from the confines of structure, she finds the freedom to truly express herself, her songs given the space to travel in previously unexplored directions.

The Ranges Concert Lounge is held on the last Friday of every month featuring great music in the relaxed and friendly, intimate atmosphere of the Burrinja Café in Upwey. The cafe/bar has a wide variety of delicious food so you can come along and have dinner there before or during the show.

Possum Magic 2013 - The Final Farewell Tour!

Based on the book written by Mem Fox and illustrated by Julie Vivas

Grandma Poss made bush magic. She made Wombats blue and Kookaburra’s pink, Dingo’s smile and Emu’s shrink, but the best magic of all was the Possum Magic that made Baby Hush invisible.

First published in 1983 Possum Magic was an instant success with children and parents alike. In 1990 the musical stage adaptation had its world premiere, which was sold out before it opened. Since then Possum Magic - The Musical is now firmly established as the most successful musical for children and families ever.

Possum Magic 2013 will be the Final Farwell Tour and it is bound to be the highlight of children’s theatre for the year.

Suitable for ages 3+.
