Musical Theatre Classes
Australia Musical Theatre (AMT) is a theatre school of the future with an original approach to teaching like no other school. Coaching students from 3-18 years, the school offers a ‘for fun or for the future’ approach specialising in Musical Theatre and Dance training. The Musical Theatre syllabus combines Dance, Drama and Voice practice, which allows children to learn and be confident in all three skills leading to performance related experiences.
Kathryn Daniels ISTD RSA (Qualified lecturer / ex performer / University Lecturer), has over 18 years experience in successfully coaching young performers.
Sessions - Mondays and Saturdays term time. All classes are held at Burrinja.

Arts Workshop
Mixed Media / Homeschool Art (Ages 5-13 years)
During this 6 week course your child will explore many aspects of mixed media, claywork, painting, collage, drawing and much more. These classes are for children to attend without a carer, please ensure your child is happy to spend the hour without you! Places are limited.
These classes are facilitated by Adriana Christianson, who has been teaching art/clay classes to children for 12 years, and adults for over 25 years. She is trained in Art and Design, majoring in Ceramics.
When: Tuesday 11am-12pm.
Cost: $95.00 (includes all materials)

Creative Movement and Drama Classes
Classes are facilitated by Dee Whittington who has many years experience with children and youth of all ages in the areas of creative movement, drama and music, with fabulous outcomes for the participants.
Play Up at Burrinja (Ages 5-6 years)
The emphasis for this age group is on creative play and improvisation. Classes are designed to stimulate the imagination of young children, through participation in various drama, music and movement activities.
When: Wednesday 4-5pm.
Act Up at Burrinja (Ages 7-9 years)
These fun filled classes are designed to encourage children to become confident in presenting their own ideas and to work together in a group. This is achieved through movement, poetry, songs, scripts and theatre games; providing safe, supported performance opportunities.
When: Wednesday 5-6pm.
Curtain Up at Burrinja (Aged 10-13 years)
This class caters for the individual personal development needs of our youth and as their skills increase Scripts become more complex, improvisation skills are honed and they experience the joy of bringing theatre, in its many forms, to the stage.
When: Wednesday 6-7pm.
Cost: $80 per term. Places are limited to 12 in each class. Term 1 commences 8th February and ends 29th March 2012.

Rainbows and Sparkles (Ages 2-4 years)
An art group for preschoolers with an emphasis on parent/carer participation. Children and adults have fun exploring creative activities together such as singing, movement, playing musical instruments and making art using a variety of media.
Classes are facilitated by Gill Cruikshank who ran this popular group for several years prior to building works. Gill also works with Dee Whittington and her ‘movement’ groups on creative support for performances.
When: Thursday 10-11am. Commences 9th February for 8 weeks.
Cost: $77 for first child from the family, and $55 for additional siblings. Places are limited to 10 in the class.

Term 2 2012
Arts Workshop
Write About Now
An opportunity for creative young writers (aged 10-14 years) to develop their potential.
Practical and fun, these workshops give students a chance to gain feedback on their writing and learn more about the editing and writing process. Areas covered include getting started, characters and dialogue, writing novels, short stories, stand-up comedy, poetry and plays.
The group is facilitated by Pauline Hosking, a local playwright and author with many years experience teaching English and Drama in secondary schools.
When: Thursday 4.00-5.15pm/4.30-5.45pm (2 sessions)
Cost: $96 per term. Places are limited. This class will be offered in Term 2 2012. Tickets will go on sale in March.
