Samantha is passionate about the Shire’s fantastic natural environment. She believes we need to ease the pressures on the natural environment, such as pollution and weed invasion, and find ways to preserve our forests. Top priority for Samantha’s term on Council is reducing greenhouse emissions through improved burning off practices and moving toward regular green waste collections. Samantha would also like to see the Shire demonstrating sustainability through making council offices more energy and waste efficient, using sustainable materials and exploring alternative technologies. When Samantha shows off the best of the Shire she takes visitors to Sherbrooke Forest and the Yarra Valley or a trip on Puffing Billy.
